Blogging is used for different purposes. Some use it to express themsleves and what they enjoy in life (Art, Music, Sports, interests). While others use it as a tool (Selling Products, Advertisement, Dates of upcoming Events). Some combine both these ideas.
Two examples: http://kdurst.blogspot.com/ <------ if u wanna check out a cool blog this is awesome, she uses this site to express herself with different videos and arts shes done. This was pretty useful for me to see because it made me think of a bunch of different ideas i could do when creating my own site. I defiantly am going to start taking videos more often and upload them onto either this blog or a site i create. Videos of trips i plan on doing, longboarding, snowboarding, what ever cool that comes my way. If i caught the interest from some individuals i think that later on in life when i want to create a business this could be a very useful tool.
http://mau5itup.blogspot.com/ <---- this is a DeadMau5 blogspot, pretty much its a site of all up coming events, samples of music, downloads, and a bunch of other information advertising only DeadMau5
The availability of information from blogging and the internet are endless. You can honestly look up any drug and figure out any pro/con , whats its made out of and how its made in a matter of seconds. Whereas years ago without technology it would have taken serious effort and long traveling in order to figure out what we now only have to type in a question to our computer.
The first thoughts that came into my mind of advantages to blogging compared to traditional newpaper style to seek new information is: saving trees, free, more precise to what information you wish to know. No government interference or influence
The disadvantages: uncensored and unfiltered. some information posted on the internet can be untrue whereas traditional newspaper information is relatively true
